I love fashion!, but before now had just seemed to consider it a hobby, something to do on the side. Shopping just came so naturally for me (a long with a million other people!) but now I get so much enjoyment not just out of buying new clothes or shoes, but actually studying each piece to look for new trends, construction and fabrics. Ironically, I grew up a tomboy, but spending six months in Spain, I discovered & embraced my femininity. I guess never seeing anybody wear t-shirts, sweats, even New Balances on the streets of Barcelona kind of inspired me to make the extra effort too!
After living in Wilmington for four years, I moved to New York City, where my fashion hobby blossomed into more of a fashion addiction and way of life. After all, how can you avoid fashion in one of the fashion capitals of the world? I learned so much there, especially after working the William Rast, Tulleh, & Anne Bowen fashion shows for New York’s Fall 2009 Fashion Week.
So after moving back to Wilmington, I’ve decided to take the first plunge of committment to pursue fashion as more than just a personal hobby, by starting this blog, to help weed through what the major fashion magazines say about upcoming trends and find pieces to match those looks from our local boutiques in Wilmington. We have some major fashion going on here in the Port City people!
